Pennsylvania Insurance Department Notice - April 22, 2025

Continuing Education Requirements

Act 142 of 2024 introduces a 3-hour ethics continuing education requirement for all licensed resident insurance producers and resident/non-resident title insurance agents. Existing licensees will be required to complete the new requirements within 12 months or by the end of the license period existing at the time of the effective date, whichever is longer. Individuals licensed on or after April 29, 2025 will be required to complete these requirements before the end of their first license period.

The 3 CE Ethics credits will be a part of the total 24 CE credits needed to renew.

UPDATE: Title agents who are attorneys are still eligible for a reduction in CE credits from 24 hours to 3 hours every license period upon completion of the CE declaration form; however, they will be required to also complete 3 hours of ethics CE in addition to 3 hours of title CE every license period.

Questions regarding these new changes can be sent to the Bureau of Licensing & Enforcement at ra-in-producer@pa.gov or call (717) 787-3840.
