Bylaw Committee


The Bylaw Committee is responsible for any revisions or amendments made to the bylaws pursuant to the parliamentary authority of the association and is responsible for proposing bylaw changes for approval.

Communications Committee


The role of the Communications Committee includes writing, editing, reviewing and/or preparing public relations, marketing brochures, and advertising to assist the association with the communication of key messaging aimed at promoting the Association and its services.  

Communication committee members meet once-per-month to discuss a wide-range of projects and share ideas on improving the awareness and benefits of the association to members and non-members.
  Members of this committee volunteer because they enjoy the creative process.  Most importantly, they share a common goal of improving the association’s effectiveness of promoting its benefits to the industry.

Convention Committee


The Convention Committee shall be responsible for planning the annual convention in all details, coordinating with the Education Committee as to speakers and topics.

Education Committee


The Education Committee promotes professionalism within the industry through providing education on all aspects of title practice and escrow services. It develops and present courses and programs that satisfy continuing education requirements. It works with the Convention Committee to present programs at the Annual Convention and at the mid-year conference held every in January. Committee membership is composed of both PLTA members and PLTI Trustees.

Finance Committee


The Finance Committee will receive and review proposed budgets from Regional Chapters, the various committees of the Association, and the PLTI and present at the year-end meeting an all-inclusive budget to be approved by the Executive Committee. The Committee shall audit the accounts of the Treasurer of this Association and of each Regional Chapter.

Legislative & Judicial Committee


The Legislative and Judicial Committee will be furnished from an outside source pending legislative Bills and will review and make appropriate recommendations to the Executive Committee. In addition, a report will be made of pertinent case law.

Political Action Committee


The Pennsylvania Land Title Association (PLTA) Political Action Committee (PAC) is a nonpartisan PAC which represents the interests of the land title industry within the Commonwealth. It is tasked to raise funds to support candidates for the state legislature and other offices within the Commonwealth who are in favor of advancing PLTA positions.

Professional Designation Committee


The Professional Designation Committee administers the Professional Designation program, including the preparation and awarding of the designation to successful candidates. Committee members must hold their CLTP designation.

Strategic Planning Committee


The Strategic Planning Committee is responsible for developing a strategic plan to develop shared goals, specific and measurable objectives, timelines and priorities for implementation. The Committee shall monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies by meeting regularly, by working with staff, officers, underwriter members, regional chapters and other committees on the implementation of shared goals and by biennially holding a strategic planning conference.

Title Issues and Records Committee


The Title Issues and Records Committee regularly monitors standards and practices of Recorders of Deeds, Prothonotaries and similar offices that affect real estate title searching, recording and filing throughout the Commonwealth. It recommends actions necessary to ensure timely recording and filing of documents and accessibility to public records by the industry.
